How does a text-to-speech message work?
This is the procedure in four steps: Step 1 A voice message is transmitted (30 = voice message sent and 31 = voice message sent). The hourglass appears in the eCall portal. Step 2 Call is received by recipient. The recipient answers the call and must press a key for the voice message to be read out. If the receiver hangs up without pressing a key (so the voice message was not transmitted), the voice message enters the repeat level (status 39). Yes, you can. If you want to initiate a transmission order to eCall via text message go to 'settings', choose 'SMS' and click on the option 'I want to be able to receive SMS messages from mobile phones'. Note that your mobile number must be entered correctly under 'settings' -'personal settings'. You can only access your eCall account via text message using this mobile number.
